Product Overview
Acetone is one of the most widely used industrial solvents and is increasingly used as a chemical intermediate.

Acetone is a clear, colorless, low-boiling, flammable and volatile liquid characterized by rapid evaporation and a faintly aromatic, sweetish odor. It readily mixes with most organic solvents and mixes completely with water.

Butyl Acetate:

Product Overview
Butyl acetate is a colourless solvent with medium volatility and a characteristic fruity ester odor.

Butyl acetate has excellent solvent power for resins, polymers, oils and cellulose nitrate. It is having low intrinsic viscosity as well as good flow properties. It is Miscible with all common organic solvents (alcohols, ketones, glycols, ethers, glycol ethers and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons)

Ethyl Acetate:

Product Overview
  • Ethyl acetate is a colourless liquid with a fruity odour, having a molecular weight of 88.10
  • It is slightly soluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents, such as alcohol, acetone, ether and chloroform.

Product Applications
  • Inks & Paints Industry : As Lacquer sanding sealer, Glass wood lacquer, Lacquer thinner, LP inks, quickset inks, heatset & coldset inks etc
  • Adhesives: For production of Glues, etc.
  • Surface coating and thinners: Ethyl acetate is one of the most popular solvents and finds wide use in the manufacture of nitrocellulose lacquers, varnishes and thinners. It exhibits high dilution ratios with both aromatic and aliphatic diluents and is the least toxic of industrial organic solvents.
  • Flexible packaging: Substantial quantities of ethyl acetate are used in the manufacture of flexible packaging and in the manufacture of polyester films and BOPP films. It is also used in the treatment of aluminum foils.

Isopropyl Alcohol

Isopropyl Alcohol has lots of other uses as per following details:
  • It is used to clean electronic devices such as contact pins (like those on ROM cartridges), magnetic tape and disk heads (such as those in audio and video tape recorders and floppy disk drives), the lenses of lasers in optical disc drives (e.g. CD, DVD) and removing thermal paste from IC packages (such as CPUs.)
  • Isopropyl alcohol removes smudges, dirt, and fingerprints from cell phones and PDAs.
  • It is effective at removing residual glue from some sticky labels although some other adhesives used on tapes and paper labels are resistant to it.
  • It can also be used to remove stains from most fabrics, wood, cotton, etc.
  • Isopropyl alcohol is also used to remove brake fluid traces from hydraulic disk brake systems, so that the brake fluid (usually DOT 3, DOT 4 or mineral oil) does not contaminate the brake pads, which would result in poor braking.
  • It can also used to remove ink stains from clothes.


Methyl Ethyl Ketone:

Product Overview

Methyl Ethyl Ketone or Butanone is a colorless, water white solvent and highly volatile liquid having Acetone-like odour with no cumulative toxicological properties.

Product Applications
  • MEK dissolves many substances and is used as a solvent in processes involving gums, resins, cellulose acetate and nitrocellulose coatings and in vinyl films.
  • It finds use in the manufacture of plastics, textiles, in the production of paraffin wax.
  • It finds use in household products such as lacquer, varnishes, paint remover, a denaturing agent for denatured alcohol, glues, and as a cleaning agent
  • MEK is miscible with most organic solvents and owing to the high reactivity of the carbonyl group, it is used as an intermediate in a number of chemical products, such as Aroma Chemicals.
  • MEK is used in dry erase markers as the solvent of the erasable dye.


n-Butyl Alcohol:

Product Overview
  • n-butyl alcohol is a colourless liquid with a strong, mildly alcoholic odor. It has an odour similar to bananas and fuel oil.
  • n-Butyl alcohol is miscible with alcohol, ether, and many other organic solvents.

Product Applications
  • Solvent for paints, coatings, varnishes, resins, gums, dyes, camphor, vegetable oils, dyes, fats, waxes, resins, shellac, rubbers, and alkaloids
  • Solvent in the purification of polyolefin, Alkyd resin coatings
  • Swelling agent in textiles

Iso Butyl Alcohol

Product Overview
  • It is colorless, flammable liquid with a characteristic smell is mainly used as a solvent.
  • Isobutanol is similar in property to n-butyl alcohol and may be used as a supplement or replacement for n-butyl alcohol in many applications. As a relatively slow evaporating latent solvent in lacquers and ambient-cured enamels, isobutanol is effective in reducing the viscosities of many formulations while simultaneously promoting flow and retarding blush.

Product Applications
  • The major use is in the manufacture of isobutyl acetate for use in the lacquer industry.
  • It is also used as a flavoring agent in butter, cola, fruit, liquor, rum, and whisky.
  • Further applications include use as a solvent in paint and varnish removers and in the manufacture of isobutyl esters, which serve as solvents, plasticizer flavorings, and perfumes.



Product Overview
  • Toluene or methylbenzene , C7H8, colourless liquid aromatic hydrocarbon that melts at ?95C and boils at 110.8C
  • Toluene is a clear, water-insoluble liquid with the typical smell of paint thinners.
  • It is insoluble in water but highly soluble in most organic solvents. Toluene is obtained from coal tar and petroleum by distillation.

Product Applications
  • The main chemical use of toluene is to make Benzene and Xylene
  • Toluene is a common solvent, able to dissolve paints, paint thinners, silicone sealants, many chemical reactants, rubber, printing ink, adhesives (glues), lacquers, leather tanners, and disinfectants.
  • It can also be used as a fullerene indicator, and is a raw material for toluene discarnate (used in the manufacture of polyurethane foam) and TNT.
  • It is used as a cement for fine polystyrene kits (by dissolving and then fusing surfaces) as it can be applied very precisely by brush and contains none of the bulk of an adhesive.
  • Toluene can be used as an octane booster in gasoline fuels used in internal combustion engines.



Product Overview
  • Xylene is a clear, colorless, sweet-smelling liquid that is very flammable.
  • It is usually refined from crude oil in a process called alkylation. It is also produced as a by-product from coal carbonisation derived from coke ovens, extracted from crude benzole from gas.
  • It is insoluble in water but highly soluble in most organic solvents. Toluene is obtained from coal tar and petroleum by distillation.

Product Applications
  • Xylene is used as a feedstock in the production of terephthalic acid and dimethyl terephthalate, both monomers used in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles and polyester clothing.
  • Toluene is a common solvent, able to dissolve paints, paint thinners, silicone sealants, many chemical reactants, rubber, printing ink, adhesives (glues), lacquers, leather tanners, and disinfectants.
  • Xylene is often used as a solvent and in the printing, rubber, and leather industries.
  • It is used as a cleaning agent for steel and for silicon wafers and chips
  • It is used as a thinner for paint, and in paints and varnishes. It may be substituted for toluene to thin lacquers where slower drying is desired.
  • In histology, xylene is also used for clearing the tissues following dehydration in preparation for paraffin wax infiltration. It is also used after sections have been stained to make them hydrophobic so that a coverslip may be applied with a resin in solvent.
  • It is used as a carrier for acrylic based concrete sealers.


Dimethylformamide (DMF)

Product Overview
  • Commonly abbreviated DMF is colourless liquid and miscible with water and the majority of organic liquids. DMF is a common solvent for chemical reactions.
  • Pure dimethylformamide is odorless whereas technical grade or degraded dimethylformamide often has a fishy smell due to impurity of dimethylamine.

Product Applications
  • Dimethylformamide is used in the production of acrylic fibers and plastics.
  • It is used as a reagent in the Bouveault aldehyde synthesis and in the Vilsmeier-Haack reaction, another useful method of forming aldehydes.
  • DMF penetrates most plastics and makes them swell. It therefore frequently occurs as a component of paint strippers.
  • It is also used in the manufacturing of solvent dyes as an important raw material. It is consumed during reaction.


Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK)

Product Overview
  • Methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) is colorless liquid, a ketone, is widely used as a solvent.

Product Applications
  • MIBK is an excellent solvent with medium boiling point and a fine chemical intermediate. It can be used as solvent in coatings, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, paraffin and various natural or synthetic resins.
  • It is used as a denaturing agent for denatured alcohol.


Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)

Product Overview
  • Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is colorless liquid that dissolves both polar and nonpolar compounds and is miscible in a wide range of organic solvents as well as water.
  • It has a distinctive property of penetrating the skin very readily, so that one may taste it soon after it comes into contact with the skin. Its taste has been described as oyster- or garlic-like.

Product Applications
  • Because of its excellent solvating power, DMSO is frequently used as a solvent for chemical reactions involving salts, most notably Finkelstein reactions and other nucleophilic substitutions.
  • DMSO is finding increased use in manufacturing processes to produce microelectronic devices.
  • It is widely used to strip photoresist in TFT-LCD 'flat panel' displays and advanced packaging applications (such as wafer-level packaging / solder bump patterning).


Tetrahydrofuran (THF)

Product Overview
  • Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless, water-miscible organic liquid with low viscosity at standard temperature and pressure.
  • THF has an odor similar to its chemical cousin, diethyl ether, but is a much less potent anesthetic than diethyl ether.

Product Applications
  • The primary use of this polymer is to make elastomeric polyurethane fibers
  • The other main application of THF is as an industrial solvent for PVC and in varnishes.
  • Other applications: Magnetic tape, Adhesives, PVC cements, Vinyl films and Cellophane, Reaction solvent, Industrial Resins, Printing Inks, Polyurethane Coatings

Dichloro Methane(MDC)

Product Overview
  • This colorless, volatile liquid with a moderately sweet aroma is widely used as a solvent.

Product Applications
  • It is widely used as a paint stripper and a degreaser
  • Its volatility has led to its use as an aerosol spray propellant and as a blowing agent for polyurethane foams.
  • Dichloromethane is used to seal the casing of electric meters. Often sold as a main component of plastic welding adhesives it is also used extensively in the model-making industry for joining plastic components together.

  • A solvent, such as turpentine, added to paint or varnish to dilute it, reduce its opacity or viscosity, or increase its penetration into the ground

Product Applications
  • It is used for cleaning and degreasing machine tools and parts, especially effective in removing oils, greases, carbon, and other material from metal.
  • Thinner may also be used in conjunction with cutting oil as a thread cutting and reaming lubricant.
  • In screen printing (also referred to as silk-screening), thinners are often used to clean and unclog screens after printing with oil-based textile and plastisol inks.
